Amouage by Surf Maroc
·
Anchor Point breaks directly below Amouage — visible from the pool, the rooftop shala, and the bar, all of which face the same direction. Twenty-six rooms at the northern edge of Taghazout village: whitewashed walls, polished concrete floors, souk-sourced Zellige tiles, Berber textiles in the communal spaces. Surf Maroc has been operating on this stretch of Moroccan coast since 2003. The hotel is not their first attempt at understanding what people need when they come here — it shows in the layout, the programme, and the fact that nothing has been placed where it doesn't belong.

The design
Whitewashed walls, souk-sourced tiles, Berber textiles. Surf Maroc has been here since 2003 — nothing has been placed where it doesn't belong.
Amouage works with the Moroccan vernacular — whitewashed walls, polished concrete, souk-sourced Zellige tiles, Berber textiles. Nothing imported to make it feel designed. Featured in the Times, CNT, the Guardian, and Stab.

Anchor Point is below the hotel. Hash Point and Killer Point are a short drive south.
Anchor Point is a right-hander that holds serious size — long walls, multiple sections, best October through March. It breaks directly below Amouage, visible from the pool. Surf Maroc's guides are locals who know every spot between Taghazout and Tamraght.
