Madada Mogador
Christine Dadda opened Madada Mogador at the entrance of the medina in 2007, positioned between the old city and the Atlantic — close enough to the port that the fish at La Table arrives the same day. The hotel doesn't have a central courtyard in the traditional riad sense, which is what makes it work: the architecture opens toward the sea rather than inward, with a rooftop terrace carrying panoramic views of Essaouira Bay. Nine room types, each with tadelakt bathrooms — local lime plaster in ivory tones, double aged-brass basins, Zellige tile work done to the building rather than imported. The Spirit of Madada now runs three addresses in Essaouira; this is the one that started it. Michelin Guide listed.
