Ericeira · Portugal
Aethos Ericeira received one of Portugal's first Michelin Keys in 2024 — a recognition that landed because the hotel had already earned it on its own terms. Fifty rooms, adults only, on the cliff above Ericeira's World Surfing Reserve. The building was stripped back to its structure and rebuilt by Pedra Silva Arquitectos: concrete and natural stone, rooms stepping down toward the Atlantic. The saltwater pool is on the cliff. The yoga deck is beside it. Ribeira d'Ilhas is ten minutes on foot. The hotel was designed for people who know exactly why they're here.

The design
Stripped back to structure and rebuilt. Concrete, natural stone, every terrace facing the Atlantic.
Aethos Ericeira was designed by Pedra Silva Arquitectos — an existing clifftop building stripped back to structure and rebuilt. Concrete and natural stone, rooms stepping down toward the Atlantic. The Michelin Key in 2024 recognised what the design already made clear.

The yoga
Morning classes start before the wind picks up. That's not coincidence.
The yoga deck sits above the cliff with the same Atlantic view as the pool. Classes run daily — morning sessions timed before the offshore conditions that make Ericeira's breaks work. Vinyasa in the morning, Yin toward evening, resident teacher year-round.
