Areias do Seixo was a coastal estate before it became a hotel — and the conversion was done with enough restraint that you can still feel what it was. Fourteen rooms across the original stone buildings, no televisions, an organic kitchen garden that supplies the restaurant. The yoga shala was designed into the property, not added to it. The beach break at Santa Cruz is a five-minute walk. The Atlantic is audible from the garden. This is one of the few hotels on the Portuguese coast where every decision — the shala, the garden, the absence of televisions — feels like it came from the same conviction.

The yoga shala at Areias do Seixo is an open-sided outdoor structure — twelve mats, morning light, the kitchen garden on three sides. Daily classes are included in the rate, not an add-on.
