Areias do Seixo
Areias do Seixo was a coastal estate before it became a hotel — and the conversion was done with enough restraint that you can still feel what it was. Fourteen rooms across the original stone buildings, no televisions, an organic kitchen garden that supplies the restaurant. The yoga shala was designed into the property, not added to it. The beach break at Santa Cruz is a five-minute walk. The Atlantic is audible from the garden. This is one of the few hotels on the Portuguese coast where every decision — the shala, the garden, the absence of televisions — feels like it came from the same conviction.

The food
The kitchen garden is forty metres from the restaurant. The menu changes when the garden does.
The restaurant at Areias do Seixo is one of the stronger food stories on the Portuguese Atlantic coast — an organic kitchen garden that supplies the kitchen directly, a menu built around what's ready rather than what's constant. Breakfast is included and worth the pace: local bread, estate produce, no rush.

The surf
Santa Cruz is five minutes from the front gate. Less crowded than Ericeira, works across a wider swell range.
The beach break at Santa Cruz is a five-minute walk from the property. Northwest groundswells from October through April, smaller swells in summer — less crowded than the WSR destinations to the south. The hotel has board storage.
The sustainability
The kitchen garden supplies the restaurant. No televisions. Eco-certified before eco-certification was a marketing tool.
Areias do Seixo is third-party eco-certified, plastic-free, rainwater collection alongside mains supply. The organic kitchen garden grows what the restaurant uses — vegetables, herbs, some fruit. Built this way before sustainability was a hospitality trend.
